2006 SUNSEEKER 26 PORTIFINO

2004 Sunseeker Portofino 46 — Cancún

There is a reason the Portofino name still carries weight among open express cruisers. Drawn and built by Sunseeker in the United Kingdom, the Portofino 46 was conceived as a proper offshore dayboat and weekend yacht: sharp entry, a modified deep-V planing hull, and the kind of beam that turns a forty-something-foot platform into something that feels far more generous once you are aboard. Overall length sits near 48 ft 5 in (14.76 m)—which is why some listings and registries read “48.5”—on a beam of about 13 ft 8 in (4.17 m) and a draft near 3 ft 5 in (1.04 m). Dry weight is in the region of 32,400 lb (14,700 kg). She is a sports cruiser with real seakeeping manners, not a marina ornament.

This 2004 example presents as a serious twin-diesel Portofino. Twin Volvo Penta TAMD inboards (diesel), approximately 1,320 hours, with about a 75-hour difference between port and starboard—exactly the sort of transparent engine history a careful buyer wants to see. Power steering and a Volvo Penta BP 800V (7 hp) bow thruster ease close-quarters work. Fuel capacity is about 346 US gal (1,310 L); fresh water about 99 US gal (375 L); holding about 125 L. A recently serviced generator supports hotel loads away from the dock. Sisterships of the type, properly powered, are known for confident mid-twenties cruise and a strong top-end when the water opens up—range enough for coastal hopping and day-long runs without treating the boat like porcelain.

Below decks the Portofino’s reputation rests on quiet luxury rather than showiness. Two private cabins and two full heads with enclosed showers sleep four in real comfort. The saloon and galley are finished in the warm, high-gloss timber and clean detailing Sunseeker owners expect: twin refrigerators, microwave, stove, dual air-conditioning units, televisions, and a premium sound system. It is an interior meant for evenings aboard after a day on the water—elegant, usable, and free of the cluttered “charter hotel” feel that softens lesser express boats.

On deck she is at her best. The broad cockpit is the social heart of the boat: large sunpad, wet bar with icemaker, Gaggenau electric BBQ, Sunbrella canvas package, and a swim platform that has been reinforced to carry a jet ski. Courtesy lighting and a Sanshin twin-beam remote searchlight round out evening usability. Navigation is Garmin-based, with radar, sonar, and VHF—practical kit for Cancún and the surrounding coastal waters. Thoughtful extras include two underwater lights on the swim platform, rod holders, spare propellers, an additional 30 m of 8 mm anchor chain, a stainless tank feeding the icemaker, and Diesel De-Bug protection on engines and generator.

Recent work is documented and recent. December 2025: ten new batteries and a major generator service. January 2026: aftercooler and turbo service, full engine service (oils, filters, inspection), and replacement of two three-bank battery chargers. February 2026: complete new exterior upholstery and the swim-platform reinforcement noted above. That is the maintenance pattern buyers look for—spent where it matters, recorded where it counts.

In short: a true Sunseeker Portofino 46—British express DNA, twin Volvo diesels with transparent hours, modern electronics, and a fresh cosmetic and mechanical chapter already written. Ready for private use, entertaining, or a well-run coastal programme in the Mexican Caribbean.
